Clean TV Wall Installation with Hidden Cables in Miramar, FL

This Miramar, FL project called for a TV wall mount with full in-wall cable concealment — no visible wires, no external cord cover, just a clean wall.

Finding the path

Before drilling anything, we map the stud bay behind the TV location for fire blocks — horizontal 2x4s built into the wall between studs for fire safety. A blocked bay means fishing cable around it instead of straight down, so we check this first rather than discover it mid-job.

Why we don't just push a power cord through the wall

Running a standard power cord inside a wall cavity is a fire code violation — household wiring inside walls has to be in fixed conduit or cable rated for it, not a flexible extension cord. So the low-voltage side (HDMI, optical, any streaming-box cabling) runs through the wall cavity via fish tape, but power gets its own path: an in-wall power relocation kit, which is really two low-profile outlets — one behind the TV, one at the original outlet location — connected through the wall by a factory-rated cable built for exactly this. The TV plugs in directly behind itself; nothing runs to the floor.

Mount and level

TV goes up on a full-motion or fixed bracket, sized to the wall's stud spacing, laser-leveled before the final torque pass.

The result: a wall-mounted TV with zero visible cabling and a code-compliant power path behind it, not just wires tucked behind a cord cover.
